Hayward Lions Host Community Pancake Breakfast

The Hayward Lions will host their annual Memorial Day Pancake Breakfast this year as a Community Service Project. Over the years the Hayward Community has given much support to the Lions and this is their way of saying Thank You!

The event will be held again at the Veterans Community Center on Saturday, May 25, 2013 from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. The Hayward Lions will have displays and information about our Local, State and International Clubs and we invite you to come and join us. There will be no charge.

A free will offering will be accepted.

Lions Club International is the largest service organization in the world with 1.3 million members in 185 countries. Worldwide, Lions Clubs are recognized for their service to the blind, visually impaired, and hearing impaired. The Hayward Lions Club is no exception. Through the efforts of our local club, we raise money for the above services. There are many other worthwhile causes, such as sponsoring the Lions Camp in Rosholt, Wisconsin, where local physically and mentally challenged children and adults go for a week at no expense.

Much of the money raised by the Hayward Lions Club stays here in the community. We provide eye exams and glasses for people less fortunate. We are a major sponsor for the Quest Program and D.A.R.E. (Drug Awareness Programs for Adolescents) Programs in our schools.

The Club not only raises funds for community projects, many countless hours of volunteer hours are a major part of the effort. A list of the many projects may be seen on a separate page.
