Lions Contribute Food and Money To Local Food Shelves

During the last several months of 2015, the Hayward Lions Club collected food and money to contribute to the two local food shelves. The Hayward Lions Club Lion Tamer, Bill Moebs, decided to ask the members to contribute cans of food instead of paying a fine to the club. He has taken the food collected to the two food pantries located in Hayward. They are: Hayward Community Food Shelf and Indianhead Community Action Agency, Inc. During the winter of 2015, the club has collected several hundred pounds of food and contributed $500. The Hayward Community Food Shelf received about 2,800 requests for food and served over 2,100 people in 2015.
